Blitzen's Sugar Buzz "Candy" - Brings home the honors at the 2008 Border Collie National Specialty!

Herding, Agility, Rally and Obedience - October 13th - 19th

 Purina Farms - Gray Summit, MO

 
Obedience - Saturday 4th Place.  Ribbon (left)  Sunday 1st Place.  Ribbon (right) - Candy had earned a 1st leg on Oct 12 with a 2nd Place the day before we left for the Nationals so she only need 2 more legs which she did get at the Nationals. Agility - Thursday - Standard 1st Place - JWW 1st Place - FAST 1st Place

Two weeks prior to the Specialty, Candy competed in her 1st Herding Trial and she not ONLY earned her 1st leg but she also won Reserve High in Trial and High Border Collie in that trial.  The next day she earned her 2nd leg and 4th place.  This enabled Candy to to eligible at the BC National to finish her herding title by earning just 1 more leg in competition.  Below is a picture of Candy & her ribbon(s) for her last leg for her Herding Title and her 3rd Place Ribbon taken at the National.

MACH Blitzen’s Ancient Thunder XF “Zeus”

 

 

 MACH Blitzen’s Ancient Thunder XF “Zeus” is eight and a half years old and he is my first agility dog. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to begin agility with. He loves to work, play and do agility.
Zeus has taught me a lot about dog behavior and training. Zeus does everything 100% good and bad! It was quite a challenge to channel all that drive and energy into a partner I could be proud of. We did a lot of obedience training which we both enjoyed. Obedience strengthened our relationship and built mutual respect and trust.
Zeus also loves to swim, he swims every day in the summer. We have done some dock diving and he is absolutely out of control when he sees that water! I use the pool as one of his rewards when we practice agility in the yard.
He gives me everything he’s got each and every time we run. I love him with all of my heart and thank him for every run, Q or not, and try my best to give him 100% back. I have enjoyed every minute with Zeus and we continue to have so much fun. I am very proud of him and our accomplishments.
